The readers of Mature Living magazine have spoken, and they’ve chosen Kingston Healthcare as the winner of the 2016 Reader’s Choice Excellence Award for Best Nursing Home.
Kingston HealthCare provides communities of choice for independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation and memory care. We have 14 locations throughout the United States, four of which are in the Toledo area.
All Kingston senior living communities offer daily activities, exercises and social events to foster well-being and life enrichment. We also create opportunities for and encourage residents to pursue hobbies and explore new interests. We treat mealtime as an event, too! Residents can choose their meals from a rotating menu of multiple entrees such as fish courses, gourmet burgers – even tacos!
Kingston Assisted Living Centers were also selected as the runner-up in the memory care category of Mature Living’s 2016 Reader’s Choice Awards.
Our memory care communities are designed to meet the unique needs of adults with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia conditions. Our staff undergoes special training to recognize and interpret non-verbal communication. They’re also trained to manage specific dementia symptoms, including Sundowner’s syndrome, wandering and agitation. Residents in our memory care communities benefit from daily activities that align with their personal interests and routines that match their individual cognitive levels.
All Kingston HealthCare communities operate under our comprehensive clinical care model, which ensures that residents have 24/7 licensed nursing support for medication administration, health monitoring and chronic disease management. Each of our Toledo communities also has several a full-time, certified nurse practitioners on staff. In addition, Kingston employs a staff Medical Director. Dr. Stacey Hoffman serves as the attending physician for our Toledo senior care communities. She also manages our unique stroke recovery program and other specialized care services.
Residents, patients and family members say they chose Kingston, not only for the extraordinary look of the facility, but because it “just felt right.” We attribute that to our employee-focused culture and practicing the Kingston Approach – our guideline for meeting resident expectations. It’s what sets us apart from other nursing homes.
The Mature Living Reader’s Choice Awards are unique in that voters must write in their top picks on a ballot or input them directly into an online form, rather than selecting candidates from a published list. We’re honored and humbled that so many thought of Kingston when casting their votes.
